Embodied Dream Institute - Online
Embodied Institute - Online
(EIO)
Since 1972, Zurich-trained Jungian analyst Robert Bosnak has led dream groups and explored dreaming with
individuals, in both analytical and didactic contexts, developing a method called Embodied Imagination (EI).
Embodied Imagination is a technique which takes dreaming as the paradigm for all work with images. From the
dreaming perspective, an image is an environment in which we find ourselves. The Embodied Imagination technique
has developed ways to flashback into the image, whether it is a memory from waking life or from dreaming, and
explores the image environment from a variety of perspectives through feelings and sensations manifested in
the body. The body becomes the theater for a vivid complexity of states, which leads along ‘alchemical’ lines
to profound transformation.
Embodied Imagination, in the work with dreams and waking memories, is practiced individually and in groups in
psychotherapy, medicine, theater, art and creative research. It is a rehearsal technique of the Royal Shakespeare
Company in England, and applied in medical research and psychotherapy in Japan, China and a variety of locations
in the Western world.
Robert Bosnak is a Dutch Jungian analyst, trained in the Zurich of the 1970s, author of several books, such as A
Little Course in Dreams, instructor of Embodied Imagination worldwide, and co-founder of the International Society
for Embodied Imagination, the National Nightmare Hotline (866-DRMS911) and since 1997,www.cyberdreamwork.com, the
premier voice program on the Internet for interactive work on dreams and imagery. He is past president of the
International Association for the Study of Dreams, and was visiting professor of clinical psychology at Kyoto
University in Japan. After having been in private practice in Cambridge, Massachusetts for 26 years, he is
currently based in Sydney, Australia.
Jill Fischer, M.S., APRN, B.C., a Jungian therapist, is a board certified, advanced nurse practitioner and clinical specialist in psychiatric nursing. With forty years of clinical experience, she has a private practice in Norwich, Conn. and has taught embodied dream imagery worldwide.
In 1997, Jill became a founding member of www.cyberdreamwork.com,
the premier voice program on the Internet for interactive work on dreams and imagery. As the site's webmaster,
she coordinates all group programs, plans activities and trains Cyberdreamwork Specialists.
In September, 2001 along with Robert Bosnak and IASD (the International Association for the Study
of Dreams), Jill co-founded The National Nightmare Hotline (1-866-DRMS911). As the Executive Director, she
works with 40 volunteers who assist callers, 24hrs./7 days a week. She is presently a member of IASD.
A long time veteran to Embodied Imagination, Jill participates in and runs many dreamgroups in both
live and virtual reality. A schedule of on-going dream groups can be found at:
www.cyberdreamwork.com/2006calendars.html.
In addition, Jill co-leads, with Robert Bosnak, training programs connected with Cyberdreamwork. Inc. where she is the Porgram Director
and co-founder of the International Society for Embodied Imagination.

Additional Training Sessions
1. Brief Depth Intervention:
Embodied Imagination is a radically new technique which views imagery – dreams and memory
flashbacks -- as embodied environments in which we find ourselves. Working on images from
this perspective stimulates unfamiliar states of consciousness and helps to contain them
in expanded body awareness. In Brief Depth Intervention, Embodied Imagination is combined
with incubation techniques from the dawn of Western medicine. This method has demonstrated
healing effects in people with physical illness and survivors of trauma, given rise to creative
bursts in artists, as well as produced in-depth solutions to psychological and relational problems.
Since this brief depth intervention is conducted via telecommunication (telephone or Internet video
conferencing) it can be facilitated from any geographic location. It takes place in 8, one-to-one
sessions over a two month period.
As trainees you will have 8, consecutive 60 minute sessions with a ten minute weekly follow up
for a Brief Depth Intervention experience each training year. (One series of sessions will be
with Robert Bosank and one with Jill Fischer)
2. Two, 2 hour, Joint Group Supervision sessions, over the Internet. Dates TBA.
3. Six 90 minute supervision sessions with your dream partners (3 with Robert Bosnak and/3 with Jill Fischer)
4. All sessions will be taped and if for any reason you cannot attend, the tapes can be sent.
5. An optional, face to face, week long Intensive in Ireland.
We try to have our intensives in places where a member or members of our training group live and
places that are especially significant to dreamers.
